Beijing Fora on Regulation of Social Media

Sunday, 11 December, 2011 (All day) - Monday, 12 December, 2011 (All day)
Beijing, China

In the framework of the Chinese Media Law research project that PCMLP supports, there are two seminars in Beijing, on 11 and 12 December, dealing respectively with self-regulation of social media, and the legislation concerning personality rights.

More specifically, the first workshop will address questions related to provider-based codes of conduct for social media users, that outline their rights and obligations. It will include examples of privacy and defamation, and comparative trends between Chinese and European evolutions will be discussed.  The second workshop also looks at privacy, from the point of view of personality rights. Furthermore, it includes rights of image and reputation, as well as an analysis of UK statute and case law.
