Giovanni De Gregorio is vising PhD student at the Programme in Comparative Media Law and Policy at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies. He is a PhD student at University of Milano-Bicocca and Academic Fellow at Bocconi University. His research activities focus on the intersection between Constitutional and law and information technology law.

His PhD thesis investigates how constitutionalism is evolving in the era of artificial intelligence. In particular, his research focuses on how and to what extent the role of algorithms challenges the system of protection of fundamental rights in the digital environment and how the relationship between public powers and private economic freedoms changes in the algorithmic society.

He has collaborated as legal researcher with the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), and with the ‘Global Freedom of Expression’ program at Columbia University. He is also member of the editorial board of MediaLaws Review.
